I post regularly on Instagram @pleavergreen

After an Art Foundation course in Leamington Spa, I read English and Drama at Exeter University. I then studied under Percy (Margaret) Harris on the Motley Postgraduate Theatre Design Course at the Almeida Islington, London and subsequently, after 5 years of theatre design work, taught English and drama at the Grey Coat Hospital School in Westminster, London.

In 2006 I came to Bristol and, have been working as a professional artist since. I work from my studio built in 2009 by John Tinney

Artist Statement May 2024

I use fabric and thread to explore contemporary thoughts and ideas. My subject matter is varied; it is conversational rather than didactic exploring the relationship between fabrics, design and thoughts.

I often work in series; researching a subject matter and then exhibiting the results; I happen upon an area which interests me and develop a response through my medium.

Although I have worked on a range of themes, I am always interested in us and our relationship with our environment; our emotional connection with it and our responsibility to it. For example: capturing depleting landscapes and depicting our topographical memory of spaces and our place within them.

Inspired by numerous trips to Japan, I am looking for positive ways to explore these themes and have most recently been working on the traditional Japanese colour combinations worn seasonally, using repurposed kimono silks within my work to explore our potential for harmony within nature.

I live and work in Bristol and have exhibited both nationally and internationally. I show work with The Cube gallery in London
